Altai Tavan Bogd Mountain
Altai Tavan Bogd Mountain is a part of Altai Tavan Bogd National Park and is a dream travel destination for trekkers, mountaineers, wildlife lovers, and nature lovers. Not only nature, but the surrounding area is also home to various ethnic groups and historical sites. The highest peak of the mountain is snow capped Khuiten Peak (4374 m), the highest point of Mongolia. The main habitats of the mountain are Argali wild sheep, Ibex, and snow leopard.Altai Tavan Bogd Mountain is located in Bayan-Ulgii province. The park includes the Mongolian side of the Tavan Bogd massif, which is divided by the triple border with Russia and China in the Altai Mountains. 1920 km from Ulaanbaatar and 270 km from Ulgii, a central town of Bayan-Ulgii province. National Park covers 6362 square kilometers and includes the lakes Khoton, Khurgan and Dayan. The UNESCO World Heritage Site has Petroglyphic Complexes of the Mongolian Altai in the Altai Tavan Bogd National Park which also covers over 10000 cave drawings in 15 km of river Valley.
